NVP will be holding its 2nd Annual Club Forum at the Harvest Cafe in Hudson. The forum will provide all members the opportunity to comment on NVP's performance during the past season and to provide suggestions on how we can better serve our members in the upcoming riding season.
Last year we held the first "Club Forum" at our January meeting. NVP faced some challenges going into 2009. The board solicited club members for their thoughts, opinions, and ideas concerning the club. We held an informal open forum to discuss the current state of the club, the issues we face, and things we can do to resolve those issues. A number of very useful ideas came out of this forum, several of which were implemented during the year.
We have decided to make this an annual club event and will be using the March member's meeting for this purpose. Your Board hopes to collect feedback on how we did in 2009 and get new some great new ideas for further improvement.
The Forum will be held at a new venue. The Harvest Cafe in Hudson (40 Washington Street) is normally closed on Monday evenings, but has kindly agreed to open just for the NVP meeting. Drinks and and light snacks will be available. Doors will open at 7 PM for the meeting which will start at 7:30. This will give members the chance to socialize before the meeting. Members are also invited to stay after the close of the discussions to chat and make plans for 2010 riding.
If the new venue proves successful, NVP has the option to use the Harvest Cafe routinely for its future members meetings.
Harvest Cafe is located at 40 Washington Street, Route 85, Across from Ace Hardware.

CANCELED DUE TO IMPENDING WEATHER.
This annual early-season ride is intended to help you shake off the winter cobwebs and start getting into proper biking shape for the spring and onwards. There are 15 and 25 mile routes, with just enough hills to get your attention. The 25 mile route passes through Littleton Center, providing a jumping-off place for a hillier loop into Harvard.

The two routes start at the South Acton Commuter Rail Station and wander through Harvard, Bolton & Berlin with the longer route heading off up Sawyer Hill to catch a few hills near Boylston. They rejoin back in Berlin and take the indirect route back to Acton via Harvard. While the shorter route avoids the bigger climbs, the longer route gets to slow down to view the scenery on West Bare Hill and Old Littleton. Either option provide an opportunity to do some climbing and then celebrate those efforts with nice downhill runs on mostly quiet, tree lined roads.
**NOTE** Quiet, tree lined roads = very limited facilities. Please bring food and drink to last most of the ride.
Rain, snow, or temps well below 40 cancel. Please call ride leader after 7am day of ride if the weather is questionable.
