NVP Members Meeting - A Life in Cycling: Q & A with Dick Ring
For this meeting we will depart from our normal meeting style and use a Q & A format. Dick Ring is a legend in the cycling world. Dick started out as a speed skater in 1943 and has been cycling since 1949. He placed fifth in the 1956 U.S. Olympic cycling trials, the year that Art Longsjo made the team. He has also been referred to as "the voice of New England cycling" for his announcing at local races. For this meeting members can ask Dick about his experiences with cycling, people whom he had raced or trained, changes in cycling techniques and equipment over the years, his experiences calling races, Art Longsjo, training young people in cycling, bicycle handling, and on and on. We might even learn something about speed skating. This promises to be an informative night for all please come ready with questions. Don’t miss it!
